It is currently 11:03 pm, and I am about to talk about what an ignite talk is (to me). An ignite talk is like that appetizer you get before the buffet, the sweet smell of fresh food rigjt before you eat, that moment of the song that just grabs your attention and holds on throughout the rest of the experience. My ignite talk consists of 2 things, my passion for tattoo art, and my accidental passion for electronical engineering. The way this came to be was, well, I build a tattoo gun, prison style. When I got it to work, i felt this sudden rush of accomplishment, like that feeling of "Holy $%!+, I did it!", and boy, did it feel good. I started to experiment more on the electronics laying around in my house after drawing for a substantial amount of time, and built a speaker. I built one earlier this month, out of a styrofoam cup and broken speaker parts. Mustapha Mond brings the trio to his "office" and revises their previous actions and judges them for it, he then goes on about the importance of happiness and tranquility and how the natural order must be retained (thats what I got fron his speech), he also banishes Hemholtz and Bernard. Bernard freaks out and is put in a panic after hearing his sentence, but Hemholtz, on the other hand, is accepting of his sentence, and is willing to welcome his new life, free from the social boundraries, with open arms. Before this, Mond went on and mentioned that he knew that retaining this dystopian society, that he would have to potentially destroy its people with either its initial birth process or the soma fed throughout their lives to basically kill them from the inside out. But he says this was all in the name of keeping the happiness in their lives, unaware of the problems with their lives. Ignorance is bliss.

In this chapter, John is invited to a party for the Arch Community Singster of Canterbury (ha, fun.), but refuses to go due to his disgust with this Brave New World, which evidently destroys Bernard's newfound popularity, and embarrasses him in front of his new "friends". Hemholtz meets with Bernard and John and shares his anti-socail poem, which sucked, if I might add, and lets John feel comfortable enough to read Shakespeare aloud, while beautiful on its own, Hemholtz appreciates the art, but then turns it to harsh riducule and laughter once John reads Shakespeare's ideas of sex and love, due to then being head-on with Hemholtz's primed ideas of his societal norms.

In the beginning of the chapter, we learn that the director has indeed resigned as the Director, due to the book referring to him as the ex-Director. We learn that Linda is taking more and more doses of soma, which is depleting her health. Bernard becomes famous among the upperclassman, or upper-caste, because of their intrigue in John the Savage. Bernard offends Mustapha Mond and Hemholtz with his remarks of "sexual conquests". John grows weary of his new surrounding in the Brave New World, references Shakespeare, and vomits on a tour of the Fordian factory, then afterwards, they visit the library, onky to find (to John's surprise) that there are no Shakespeare works. He later goes on a date with Lenina to a "feely", whatever that is, and tops it off by referencing it to Othello (i had to do a little digging for that one). John dissapoints Lenina by not having sex with her, whilst he felt unworthy and not worth her, while she felt frustrated with his decision, ...

As a reader, if someone I knew has read a book that I have as well, it feels good to know that there's another way of approaching the book. If they don't know what I'm talking about, then I'd rather let them read it before I cloud their heads with primed ideas on what to look for.

So in this chapter (which was surprisingly short) shows that the D.H.C. decide to wait for Bernard to get back to publically humiliate him by announcing that he would be demoted to the lowest level in the Sub-Centre, due to "grossly disgracing the trust bestowed upon him", but retaliates with showing Linda and John, which puts the crowd in awe. Linda points out that the Director is her "Tomikin", and John then calls him his father, whilst the Director is denying these claims. He eventually fless from the scene, leaving the crowd to wonder the truth.

Can't believe that we are almost outta here. There's so much in highschool that I never got to do or get to do. That's what i want to talk about. I wanna learn certain things before getting sent off into an independent and scary world, where the baby talk becomes a satire for adults. I want to learn how to identify a business opportunity, how to reserve money for savings, open up a checking account, understand margins, interest rates, estimates, how to plan for retirement, 401k's, anything that will put me one step ahead of becoming homeless again. My mom has struggled far too long to see me end up where she avoided the most.

Wow. This chapter seems to have taken quite the turn. So it starts off mellow, well, at least for the reader. Lenina decides she's gonna take 3 whole grams of soma and knock out for the next eight hours, and while she's done for the day, Bernard is arranging a plan to get Linda and John back to London, so he calls Mustapha Mond, whom he convinces that they are of "scientific interest", so Mond agrees, and grants him the permission to bring them back. John waits by the redt room and wonders why its empty, and begins to feel impatient and let down. Bernard flies to Santa Fe to convince a guard that he is in fact "pals" with Mond, all while John is breaking into the rest rooms. He finds Lenina's things, is intrigued by her perfumes and zippers, and finds Lenina laying down, unconcious. Brace yourself folks, it gets weird. Then again, this whole book is just an extended satire of the New World. So John stands beside her, in awe of her beauty, and recites wha...

In Chapter 8 of Brave New World, we start with Bernard questioning John's lifedtyle, his home, and everything around him. This, of course, confuses John, because of how accustomed he is to his surroundings, and when question, Bernard rephrases and asks about John's life and how far back he can remember. John talks about his life, and mentions how his mother was always "unemotionally open" and would have the men of the village come and "see" her. This angered the wives and partners of those who paid a visit, and Linda would end up beaten, and John neglected by his village and sometimes his own mother. One day, Popé brought Linda a dusty, old, raggedy book that had been slowly deteriorating from how long it had been lost. It was a copy of Shakespeare's plays, and had sparked interest in John. He soon teaches himself to read the book, and the book opens his vision to the parallels he sees within the book. He compared himself to Hamlet, and how his mother wa...

Sorry, I saw a golden opportunity and i couln't help myself. Anywho, what I feel I can control in my life consists of my diet. It's not exactly a diet, more like an eating habit, dare I say "disorder". I wouldn't go that far, though, it's more like working on my self control, rather than it being something beyond my own comprehension. Another aspect of my life that I have the "power" over is how and when I listen to my music, and how I play my music. The thing about the arts is that there is no limits, no boundaries (except the moral ones, of course), and especially, no equal thoughts. That's about it, well, all I can think of in a few minutes.

Turns out I have to download Firefox, can't do that on account to my dwindling amount of storage space. Some search engine.

Alright, so I Googled myself, found some very confusing photos, none regarding me, and very questionable records, none of which were mine. I also found pages that give out public records, which was scary, so I checked it out and found nothing regarding me, and thats about it. I checked a week ago and remember finding criminal records, and also found nothing regarding me. I checked the Facebook profiles, nothin'. I checked the email accuracy, nothin'. I almost dont exist on the web. Both sad, and relieving. Mostly due to the fact that I don't want to be mixed up with some other dude who happens to commit a metric f#*%-ton of crimes. This was just Google, I'm gonna go try Firefox.

Sympathy- feeling sorrow for someone else's misfortune, unable to understand the situation, does not have similar experience, pity, sorrow, concern are concerned Empathy- understanding of a situation, similar experiences, acceptance and understanding See, when we know that someone is going through something, we tend to comfort them or try to make them feel better, but if we show empathy, wr know what its like, we know how or if dealing with it immediately would be good or not. So these are the notes i took for chapters 3 and 4 of Brave New World, enjoy.

Im gonna be honest, that first chapter kinda flew by me when i read it the first time around, but re-reading it, lots of things popped out to me, like the fact that over an excruciating paragraph of overexplaining the process of controlled birth, it hit me, I know I wasn't even close to being the only one who had realized that Huxley was being precise in order to say "Hey dumb-dumb, if things don't change now, this'll be all you'll listen to", it just felt like that to me, but others may have just thought it was a boring and unnecessary details. Although it was long winded and obscure, it was still the exposition to the grand scheme of the entirety of this book and what's to come.

In the end of Macbeth's reign, Macduff holds the head of the forbidden king high, and Malcolm proceeds to rejoice and decides to celebrate. The thing that stuck to me was that there was a slight unsettling mood to it, as if seeing the death of a person was a happy occasion, i could understand why, sure enough, but the fact that we as an audience know he only did what he was told and ended up costing him his life just scares me a little. Morality-wise, of course. But he did some pretty unforgivable things for that time. He killed a king, a man that was seen as God's second in command, the one all people could never f#%$ with. Its like flipping off the Pope in front of all his disciples. I think the most important thing that Macbeth did that led to his death was the fact that he disturbed the natural order of things, causing mass hysteria and panic.

There is a whole book i can write about the things I've done in the past that would make me feel guilty enough to apologize for a lifetime. But the mistakes we make are something we all have to live with, there's no escaping it, even though I wish I could.

In the beginning of the play Macbeth, we are pleased to have a very enthralling introduction, with 3 witches priming the readers with momentos of foreshadowing, and among one of the most iconic quotes, and also the title of a Ray Bradbury book, "Something wicked this way comes." They say a lot to leave you in a stasis to stay open about what they mean, such as "Fair is foul, foul is fair", which I would think means that what's right is wrong, and what's wrong is right, and that someone will come along to break that unbalance at the expense of being considered wrong for it. Later on, we find that we get an indirect intro to Macbeth, a very "enthusiastic" soldier/warrior/complete sociopath/feared individual. A lot could be said about this man, and how he handles business with an iron sword and the strength of a thousand men, leaving nothing but split armies and a red sea, and a warning on a stick. As an avid reader, I lean towards a space for myself, an experience that I want to know, and a passage of silence that I can listen to clearly, but sharing those ideas helps others to understand that level of comfort or confinement. Some people like to be alone when they do things, others tend to like a partner or group to share the experience with. I'm on both sides, if I read a good book, my friends might not be interested, but someone will, and sharing the perspective is like showing someone what was present. In the Paul Simon video we watched earlier about "Graceland", an album name that seems to fly by some heads, or rock the heads of those who know. This album had brought many milestones to the table of music and even pioneered global music with a more unified variation. Paul Simon wokred with South Africans that had inspired him with just a cassette tape with the title "Accordion Jive Hits Vol. 2", he couldn't stop playing the tape, and went to South ...
